When you and the opponent are both really close to the target ball (cochonnet) you may want to throw the ball (boule) hard and shoot the opponent’s ball. If you remove their ball your ball is left “holding the point”.
Start to have teams of players and when some team member has the ball closest to the cochonnet a member from the other team must play.
Sometimes we just play on the grass. We have been known to set the cochonnet on a golf tee to make sure it can be seen!
